As part of BLLHA’s ongoing Emergency Preparedness Series—and as a vital component of operator business continuity—we invite you to join us for a one-day (5-hour) session focused on best practices in crisis communications and media relations. This session will help ensure that, when issues arise—whether within your organization or the broader region—you’re equipped to keep employees, visitors, and stakeholders informed and safe, while also protecting the reputation of your business and the destination.

Facilitated by tartanbond: tartanbond’s journalistic ethos remains at the very core of its business. The team understands the modern media landscape – including the fast-paced and evolving world of social media. Thinking like journalists and asking those difficult and probing questions, while having the ability to recognize opportunities, is a learnt skill that will be shared during these sessions

tartanbond will work with participants to refine crisis communications response protocols, learning how to confidently respond to tough questions, avoid “spin,” and communicate key messages clearly and authentically.

Members will be provided with expert guidance to help manage and mitigate issues swiftly—before they escalate or impact brand trust.

This hands-on, interactive training will include tips, techniques, and practical exercises to help build confidence as a spokesperson, sharpen messaging, and prepare for high-stakes conversations with media and stakeholders during times of crisis.

Cost: $75+GST for BLLHA members. Registration limited to 1 person per member organization - this person may be responsible for crisis communications and/or the organization's spokesperson. Email melanie@bllha.ca to place a secondary person on the wait list.

Registration will open to non-members on April 18 at a cost of $150+GST
